Peanut Brindle


5 cups rice flour
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup peanuts (chop)
In a bowl, mix all ingredient except chopped peanuts together thoroughly. Set aside.
1 egg
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup peanut butter
1 small apple
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cup water


In a food processor, add the above ingredients and blend together. When mixture is thoroughly blended, add to the bowl of dry ingredients. Combine and turn our on a lightly floured surface. Place a piece of plastic wrap on top of dough then roll out dough to 1/4 - inch thickness. Remove the plastic wrap ans score dough into 4 by 3-inch rectangles. Spritz the top of the rectangles with water and sprinkle chopped peanuts over them. Press the chopped peanuts int the dough with the palm of your hand. Bake at 325 degrees F for 50 to 60 minutes.




Apple Cinnamon Training Bits

The following recipe is from the Three Dog Bakery television show. "Three Dog Bakery is more than a canine cooking show...it's also packed with great information on training your puppy, caring for your older dog, and throwing the best poochie parties in your neighborhood."

4 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup cornmeal
1 egg
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 small apple (grated)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 1/3 cups of water


In a bowl combine all ingredients except the apple and water. Grate apple into mixture and add water. Mix until it starts forming together. Turn out on a lightly floured surface. Knead well. Roll out to a thickness of 1/4 - inch to 1/2 - inch. Take a straight edge and score the dough horizontally then vertically to make a grid of 3/4 squares. Be careful not to score the dough that it completely cuts through the dough. Place on a baking sheet that has been sprayed with a nonstick spray. Bake at 325 degrees  for 1 hour.
 

Yield: 12 to 14 pieces

 

 

 

Cheese Crunchies

3 c. whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 c. bacon fat
1c. shredded mild cheddar cheese
1 egg
1c skim milk


Place flour and garlic salt in a large bowl. Stir in bacon fat. Add cheese and egg. Gradually add
enough milk to form a dough. Knead dough and roll out to about 1/2" thick. Use a cookie cutter to cut out dough.
Place cookies on a corn sprinkled cookie sheet. Bake at 325 degrees F. for about 45 minutes, until they start to brown. When all are baked, turn off oven an leave in oven overnight .
Store in airtight container.

 

Dotties Banana Biscotti

 

Preheat oven to 325F/160C. Mix dry, then wet ingredients until lumpy. Add water, one teaspoon at a time as needed. Knead by hand on table until mixed thoroughly. Form into logs approximately 2" - 2 1/2" high. Flatten so that log is 6" - 7" wide by 1" high. Place on non-stick baking sheets. Bake approximately 30 - 40 minutes. Remove and cool for 10 minutes. Slice into 1/2" - 3/4" slices. Place on baking sheets and bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown. Cool.

 

 


Pet Puffs

 

Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water. Mix dry ingredients. Add all ingredients together. (Dough will be very stiff; it may be necessary to mix with your hands.) Drop dough by level half-teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated 300F. oven 25 minutes.

Yield: About 13 dozen treats.

 


Liver Bait

 

Mix in food processor or blender until smooth. Pour onto greased cookie sheet.

Bake for 30 minute at 350F. When cool cut into squares.

 

 


Doggie Cheesy Carrot Muffins

 

Mix in a large bowl:

Mix in small bowl, then add to above:

Cook at 350 degrees, 12 minutes for mini muffins, 20-25 for large muffins.

 

 

 

Turkey Gobblers

 

From the Three Dog Bakery Cookbook

Ingredients: 1 cup ground turkey
2 cups white flour
1 cup cornmeal
1 egg
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
3/4 cup water
2 teaspoons tarragon

Cooking Directions: Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
In a frying pan, cook ground turkey, crumble into small pieces and set aside on a paper towel.
Combine flour and cornmeal in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, beat egg, oil and water, then add tarragon. Turn dough out on a lightly floured surface and knead until thoroughly mixed together. Roll out dough to 1/2-inch thick and cut out shapes. Place on greased baking sheet and bake 15 minutes or until firm. Cool and serve. Keep any leftovers in a sealed container in the refrigerator.
