This formula that I created has been helping Paul steadily gain weight. |
4 oz. evaporated milk 2 oz. sterilized water 1/2 tsp. oil 2 Tbs. Kayro syrup 1 egg yolk 1 cup plain yogurt 2 Tbs. white sugar In blender mix all of the above. Refrigerate in air tight container. Do not keep formula over 7 days. Makes 16 oz or 2 cups formula |
Paul's first week of bottle feedings he would consume 4 Tbs. of formula in a 24 hour period in addition to nursing on mom. Paul weighed 3 1/2 oz at birth and by one week of age he is at 7 oz. Any healthy puppy should have doubled its weight in its fist week of life. |
Good going Paul! |
Paul's 2nd week - bottle feedings every three hours around the clock: I increased the yogurt to 1 1/2 cup and I also added puppy vitamins when making the formula |
By two weeks of age Paul consumes 8 Tbs. of formula in a 24 hour period and also weighs 9 1/2 oz. |
Keep it up Paul! |
Paul's 3rd week - bottle feedings every three hours from 7:00 am -1:00 am: |
By three weeks of age Paul consumes 10 1/2 Tbs. of formula in a day and weighs 14 oz. |
